The Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Sciences (WiSo Faculty) maintains excellent partnerships with over 150 leading institutions of higher education across the world, enabling its students to spend time abroad under a range of study and exchange programmes.

The following list of universities provides an overview of the WiSo Faculty's cooperation partners. Depending on the WiSo Faculty's degree programme, a selection of the universities listed below is available for a stay abroad. Please consult the WEX International Outgoings Portal to find out which universities the individual WiSo degree programmes have access to. Cooperation with the business community

The Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Sciences (WiSo Faculty) cultivates close relationships with national and international businesses. The Faculty also has corporate partners under the CEMS network and works with them to organise CEMS business projects, which are coordinated by the International Relations Center. International networks

The Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Sciences (WiSo Faculty) has long been actively involved in a number of outstanding international university and company networks. These networks enable the WiSo Faculty to

  • exchange information with university institutions around the world about new trends and developments in economics,
  • offer numerous opportunities to students and teachers to add an international dimension to their studies and academic careers and
  • gain insights into best-practice standards for management training and company–university cooperation arrangements.

CEMS – Global Alliance in Management Education

CEMS – The Global Alliance in Management Education (formerly Community of European Management Schools) is a global network of 34 leading management schools and economics faculties, as well as over 70 multinational corporations (CEMS Corporate Partners) and 4 social partners, who have joined forces to develop and teach the courses offered under the CEMS Master's in International Management (CEMS MIM). The University of Cologne is a founding member of the network, which was established in 1988, and the only German member of the Alliance.

EFMD – The European Foundation for Management Development

EFMD is an international organisation that comprises more than 650 members in 75 countries from academia, the business community, the public sector and consultancies. Together, they constitute a unique forum for knowledge-sharing and networking, as well as for research and discussion about innovation and best practice in management.

PIM – Partnership in International Management

The PIM network is a global consortium of 60 leading business schools and serves as a platform for international collaboration in management studies. The WiSo Faculty at the University of Cologne is the only German member of PIM.

AACSB – The Association of Advance Collegiate Schools of Business

The WiSo Faculty is a member of AACSB International – the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. AACSB International is a membership association of educational institutions, business, not-for-profit and government organisations devoted to the advancement of higher education in business administration and management. Membership does not imply accreditation.

AAPBS – Association of Asia-Pacific Business Schools

AAPBS connects a host of first-class business schools in a global association. Its aim is to promote the quality of academic management training in the Asia-Pacific region.

European Network of Erasmus Coordinators in Political Science, International Relations, Public Administration and Management

The network links up over 70 European universities to promote student and lecturer exchanges in the political and administrative sciences.
