When will students receive their fall semester charges?
Fall charges will be available on or around July 1 on the student's WVU MyAccount (via WVU Portal) for students who have registered for fall classes. Parents with Authorized User access to billing information will be able to view charges via the WVU MyAccount Login website. When will students and parents begin receiving communications about fall payment?
WVU begins communicating fall 2024 billing timelines and options for payment in early July to give students and families time to plan and budget.

What happens next if a student does not pay their balance due or enroll in a payment plan by August 1?
Students who owe a balance after August 1 will be assessed a 2.85% late payment fee if they have not done one or more of the following to cover their full balance:
- Paid their charges in full.
- Enrolled in a tuition payment plan.
- Set up a third-party sponsor contract with the WVU Hub.
- Covered their balance with financial aid.
They will then be sent an updated billing notification outlining charges due September 1. Students have ample notice to pay their charges before late fees are assessed. The WVU Hub sends reminders to ensure students are aware of their payment responsibilities.

How will missing the August 1 payment deadline affect a student's class registration, eCampus and/or SOLE access, University housing, and dining plan status?
Students’ class registration, housing plan, and dining plan will not be affected unless their balance is not covered by September 1. This gives students approximately four weeks after the August late fee is assessed to work with the University on payment options.

What about students with financial aid or benefits like the G.I. bill?
Students who have financial aid or other benefits reflecting as authorized aid in WVU MyAccount that are sufficient to cover their balance, but have not arrived in their accounts by August 1, will not be charged a late payment fee.

What happens next for students who do not pay full their balance due by September 1?
Students who owe a balance after September 1 will be removed from classes if they have not done one or more of the following to cover their full balance:
- Paid their charges in full
- Enrolled in a tuition payment plan to cover their balance.
- Set up a third-party sponsor contract with the WVU Hub
- Covered their balance with financial aid
Please note that students who have financial aid reflecting as authorized aid in WVU MyAccount that is sufficient to cover their balance but has not arrived in their accounts by the September 1 deadline will not be charged a late payment fee.

Can students pay their charges and be reinstated to their classes if they are dropped for non-payment after the September 1 due date?
Yes. Students who are removed from classes due to non-payment will have until September 6 at 12:00 p.m. Eastern to cover their balance in full, plus a $250 reinstatement fee, to be reinstated to their classes.

How will missing the September 1 payment deadline affect a student's University housing and dining plan status?
When students are removed from classes due to an outstanding balance, those with meal plans will still be able to eat in dining halls through the reinstatement period. University Housing will work closely with affected students in residence halls on next steps. This typically applies to a very small number of students.

How is WVU ensuring students are aware of the September 1 payment deadline and the repercussions of late payment?
A series of emails and text messages will be sent throughout July and August to students who owe a balance to ensure they are aware of payment deadlines and payment options, and to encourage them to reach out to the WVU Hub if they need assistance. Students should ensure their cell phone numbers are listed correctly and that they check their MIX email inbox frequently.
