NEWS RECORD, Thursday, October 12, 2006 B5 OBITUARIES GREENSBORO AREA HAROLD GLEN STEPP MCLEANSVILLE -Mr. Harold Glen Stepp, 61, of Lou Drive, died Monday, October 2006, at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 12, at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church.

The Rev. Dr. Al Joyner will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr.

Stepp was born November 3, 1944, in Asheville, to the late Harold Glen and Martha Edge Stepp. For many years he worked in the Automobile Service with Black Cadillac and most recently was working for Belk in Four Seasons Mall. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church and the Reid Bible Class. He enjoyed models cars and photography as hobbies.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Hutchison Stepp; three children, Karen Elizabeth Richter and husband, Scott of Macon, Georgia, Dennis Charles Stepp of Boston, Massachusetts, Katie Wilkins and husband, Brian of Taylors, South Carolina; four grandchildren, Galen Richter, Brendan Richter, Martha Grace Richter and David Wilkins. Cone Memorial Hospital. A private service was requested by J. T. Mr. Tilley was born January 17, 1929, in Mayodan.

J. T. served in the Untied States Marine Corps during World War II in the Pacific Area and participated in the Occupa'tion of North China. He retired from Southern Railway with 38 years of service. He is survived by Colleen, his wife of over 50 years; son, Ray Tilley and wife, Melody of Liberty; daughter, Pat Tilley Doss and husband, Tim of Raleigh; son-in-law, Gerald Walker of Randleman; grandson, Tommy Tilley, Coy Osborne and his wife, Toni, Alan Nelson, Chase Doss; and great-grandson, C.

GREENSBORO Mr. Willie "Pete" Brunson, Jr. departed this life on Monday October 9, 2006, at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday October 13, at Belivers Missionary Baptist Church, 235 Ward Road.

Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Park. Willie was born February 2, 1929, in Winston Salem. He was the son of the late Rev. Willie B. Brunson and Lillian Nemmons Brunson.

Pete was a member of New Mt. Zion United Church of Christ in Graham. He served in the United States Coast Guard and attended the Government Training School in Baltimore, Md. He left his mark in Greensboro on buildings all over the city. Many on Industrial and the front of the Sears building on West Friendly Avenue.

Those left to mourn his loss are his loving wife, Loletta; daughter, Mrs. Scarlett B. Sherman (Jack) of Cincinnati, Ohio; one brother, Mr. Levi Brunson (Rose) of Winston Salem; one sister, Mrs. Lil- lian C.

Brown of Bronx, N.Y.; sister-in-laws, Mrs. Willie Rose Thompson of Graham, Mrs. Sophia Brunson of Greensboro; brother-in-laws, Mr. Sterling Thompson of Graham, Mr. Theodore Albright of Haw River; and a host of nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great nephews, and many many friends.

Burial will follow in Bunker Hill Cemetery. He was born June 14, 1923, in Rockingham Co. to the late Jessie Gilmer and Essie Grogan Duncan. Mr. Duncan was a World War II Army veteran.

He retired from Modern Machine and Fabricators as a machinist, and had attended Bunker Hill United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Leta Idol Duncan. She was a retired bookkeeper for Amerigas Corporation. A very kind and loving person, she devoted her life to helping others. She was also a great lover of music, nature, and especially animals. She was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Ruth, Edna, Josephine, and Nellie; and brothers, Thomas and Clarence.

Wilbur Hughes went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, October 10, 2006 Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, October 13, at Sawyersville Wesleyan Church with Pastor F. Darrell Rabon and the Rev. Bill Foust officiating. A private entombment will follow at Randolph Memorial Park.

Roy Wilbur Hughes was born in Randolph County, on June 12, 1938, the son of the late Sanford Hubert and Bessie Causey Hughes. He entered into the furniture industry in 1962 by starting a frame business. In 1970, he started Caraway Furniture Company building frames and upholstery furniture. In 1990, he founded Hughes Furniture Industries which still operates today. Serious health problems slowed his involvement in daily activities beginning in 2002 and caused him to remain homebound.

But he stayed active working in an advisory capacity and helping with new products. Wilbur gave God all the glory for all He helped him accomplish. Without God's blessings, none of it would have been possible. His love for God, his wife, children and other family were most important to him. He loved listening to God's word more than anything.

He said the best thing in his life was the day he was saved by Jesus Christ. Wilbur spent his days listening to the Bible and worship music on CD's. We praise God for all the wonderful people and all that was done for Wilbur. Wilbur had attended Pisgah United Methodist Church and later attended Sawyersville Wesleyan Church until his health would no longer allow. He enjoyed motorcycles and collecting classic cars.

He also loved listening to beach, rhythm and blues and country music. In addition to his parents, Wilbur was preceded in death by his sons, Rusty G. Hughes and Roy K. "Dickie" Hughes. Wilbur is survived by his wife, Linda L.

Hughes, of the home; son, Bruce Hughes, of Trinity; daughters, Pamela Hughes, Virginia Luck and husband, Terry, all of Asheboro; brother, Garry Hughes and wife, Brenda, of Sophia; sister, Annie Mae Wootton, of Sophia; grandchildren, Justin Luck, Rusty Hughes and wife, Dana, Elicia Hughes, Zachary Vestal; four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. JOHN F. MOORE, JR. LIBERTY Mr. John F. Moore, 83, of 6194 Old Liberty Road, died Tuesday, October 10, 2006.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, October 13, at Fairview Cemetery. Mr. Moore was of the Quaker faith. He was a veteran of the US Army and served during World War II.

Customs Agent with 35 years of service, and a U.S. Navy Veteran from the Korean War. He was a seaman apprentice and was awarded the Purple Heart while attached to the USS UHLMANN on the 3rd day of November, 1952, while operating off the east coast of North Korea. He is survived by sisters, Dixie Martindale of Franklinville, Betty Taylor of Greensboro; brother, Dwight Trogdon, Jr. of Franklinville.
