Shoutout to that one random post that ruined ORV for me, because it explained that Jihye never got to have a teenage friend with her, that was always supposed to be Namjoon but Dokja fkin killed him and forgot about him for the whole goddamn story like he didn't matter. Now i can only think about that and it makes me sooooo mad, any happy moments with all of the characters i just think "but there's someone missing you f*cks and jihye is alone"

I'm not entirely sure what I expected when I started watching Maze Runner but it most certainly wasn't zombies.

tfw a guy walks into the maze you've fought tooth and nail to make a viable home and singlehandedly solves all your problems but also f*cks everything up.

and you can't blame him because he's brave and strong and beautiful and everything you've always attempted to convince yourself you are, but better in a way you'll never achieve.

there's also this guy you have always loved and that has been your best friend ever since you saved his life when no one else would. he has never seen you as more than a friend and you have learned to live with that.

but suddenly they're falling in love and you have to watch them tentatively flirt while your heart breaks further than you had thought possible as you wonder what they could have that you don't.

and you know it's no big deal because there are such bigger things going on around you and your whole life is a mess and it doesn't matter anyway.

you'll forget them in a haze of drugs and resentment soon enough.

so we know that orv is basically kim dokja's self insert ways of survival fix-it fanfic right. and we know that his narration is coloured by his interpretation of the characters and the way he sees not only the real world, but also the world of ways of survival. anyway can we talk about how his self insert happy ending fanfic involves him working closely with the protagonist, his favourite character ever, and he spends a good chunk of it thinking - despite all evidence to the contrary - that yoo joonghyuk doesnt care about him. he thinks its out of character for yoo joonghyuk to like him. he thinks its OUT OF CHARACTER for his FAVOURITE CHARACTER to LIKE HIM. im going to be sick

and it has to do with the way he conceptualizes himself as a "self insert" - he doesnt consider himself a person yoo joonghyuk would care about because he doesn't consider himself a person yoo joonghyuk interacts with. it's about the divide between a character and a real person..... if a new character that could rival yoo joonghyuk's strength showed up in ways of survival, proved himself trustworthy, and did everything he could to make sure yoo joonghyuk didn't die, of COURSE yoo joonghyuk would begin to trust that character - especially in the early regressions. but kim dokja isn't a character. he's manipulating the story from the other side of the fourth wall - he's not someone yoo joonghyuk can have a relationship with. (almost like the oldest dream..... ohhh my god. head in hands.) of course we aren't companions - he's a character and i'm a real person. they're incarnations and i'm a constellation. they're all real people and i'm a character, written and sold by my own mother. theres a thick wall between us.....

and why would you conceptualize it that way kim dokja. why would you tell a story where all the characters get a happy ending but you arent a character. why does your idea of a good story involve none of your companions caring about whether you live or die. kim dokja i am knocking on the wall

god i seriously am never getting over That Scene in orv. kim dokja has so little compassion for himself that the only thing he can think to do upon being confronted with the most powerless, frightened, vulnerable version of himself is to try and murder it with his own hands. even when everyone is sobbing and begging him to stop, even when everyone has already forgiven him without reservation, even when yoo motherf*cking pilgrim of the apocalypse joonghyuk cannot muster any animosity, kdj will not stop trying to convince them this trembling little boy needs to die. it had been well established by that point that kdj is self destructive and self loathing, but he was good at maintaining some emotional distance from his actions. but the moment he steps off that train, recognizes his own drawings, realizes what's happened, that impassive veneer shatters and he becomes desperate and vicious. this man hates himself so much. seriously, can you imagine how it must have felt to be oldest dream? you're an abused, lonely, depressed child. profoundly alone in this world, betrayed by everyone you've ever loved. you are so frightened of everything you can't bear to live in reality. you meet yourself from the future, but even he has no sympathy for you. no, he hates you. he hates you so much he wants to kill you. he would point a broken sword at his own throat if it meant he could erase you. you don't know what you did wrong. you never do. all you can do is cower from the monster and hope he doesn't get you.

the scene that im the most upset about being deleted from the maze runner movies is the scene in the scorch trials where newt gives thomas like a calm pep talk. yk which one i’m talking about it NEEDED TO STAY IN bc it showed how newt was like thomas’s anchor and shows their bond so well!! if i could only choose one deleted scene to stay in out of all i would choose this one

I would hesitate between this and the scene where he explains how he broke his leg. Hhhhhh still they need to stop deleting scenes like that it's a TRAGEDY
